Geography Projects may only be funded on individual nonindustrial landownerships encompassing 3 to 5000 acres of forest land. Forested lands shall be defined as having more than 10% tree canopy cover of any native tree species. Only for California. Projects that take place within disadvantaged communities or low-income communities receive scoring preference in this grant program.

Overview

The purpose of the Wildfire Resilience Block Grant is to meet goals 1.09 – 1.15 of the Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force Action Plan by providing grant funding to regional applicants who serve as aggregators who provide technical and financial assistance to groups of nonindustrial forestland owners ranging in size from 3 to 5000 acres in a specific region. Under this grant, the grantee will serve as a sub granting entity to deliver a program offering technical and financial assistance to nonindustrial forestland owners.
