Overview

The principal objective of ALMP is the establishment of agricultural conservation easements in furtherance of the mitigation measure set out in the Authority-approved Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plans for the high speed rail (HSR) project. The goal is to protect agricultural land of equivalent quality and acreage near HSR project’s alignment, stations, and maintenance facilities at a replacement ratio of not less than 1:1. The Agricultural Land Mitigation Program (ALMP) provides grant funding for the purchase of agricultural conservation easements on farmland within Fresno, Madera, Merced, Kern, Kings, or Tulare counties. Interested landowners must partner with an eligible applicant, such as a land trust, city, county, resource conservation district, or regional park or open-space...
