Overview

Implementing the California Water Action Plan in the Coachella Valley. Any project that meets the objectives of Proposition 1 may apply, but the Conservancy is particularly interested in the following endeavors:   Land acquisition projects that preserve watershed features, flows into the aquifer, Whitewater River and Flood Plain or the Salton Sea; prevent flooding; or conserve habitat areas for endangered or threatened species of animals and plants. Watershed restoration or enhancement projects, such as those that reclaim natural features like streambeds, washes, or percolation areas; remove invasive species that draw excessive amounts of water from the aquifer or harm endangered or threatened species; or create refugia or new habitat area for such species.
