Community Services Infrastructure Grant Program (4th Round)
Overview
It is intended to expand access to jail and prison diversion programs and services; create or expand mental health treatment facilities, substance use disorder treatment facilities, and trauma-centered service facilities in local communities; and reduce the need of mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, and trauma-centered services in the jails and prisons. Chapter 33, Statutes of 2016 (SB 843), Section 52, established the Community Services Infrastructure Grant Program (CSI) and is intended to improve access to jail diversion programs. SB 843 provides a mechanism for funding a statewide expansion of mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, and trauma-centered services via grants available to counties.
