Overview

The purpose of the CARE grant program is to provide grants to eligible non-profit organizations to fund CARE grant programs at one or more California prisons. Applicants must develop a specific proposal designed to meet the unique needs and requirements of the specific grant program(s) proposed, as well as meet the needs of the incarcerated individuals in California prisons, where the CARE grant programs will be provided. This project will provide $5 million in grants per year for three terms ($15 million total) to eligible non-profit organizations to fund transformative programs in one or more California prisons.
