Overview

The goal of the CA H&SS is to support OUD prevention, treatment, and recovery across the state, and to: ·Improve access to MAT for marginalized populations; ·Improve MAT provider infrastructure, including appropriate telehealth services and expanded service hours; and ·Broaden the concept of the patient population from the individual to include the family to maximize recovery capital, support family resilience, and destigmatize treatment. The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is committed to improving access to substance used disorder and opioid use disorder (SUD/OUD) treatment, reducing unmet treatment need, and reducing opioid and stimulant-related overdose deaths.
