Overview

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is offering $1 million in grant funding for operators of boating facilities to enhance preparedness and response efforts against invasive mussels, particularly the growing threat of golden mussels in California. CDFW will fund one-time start-up costs to implement efforts to 1) prevent the overland spread of golden mussel (Limnoperna fortunei) and other species of invasive mussels from waters where they have been detected, and 2) prevent the introduction of invasive mussels to waters of California where invasive mussels have not been detected.
