Overview

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) offers the Beverage Container Redemption Innovation Grant Program pursuant to Senate Bill (SB) 101 (Chapter 12, Skinner, Budget Act of 2023). The purpose of the grant is to support start-up costs for Qualifying Tribal Entity recycling programs, which shall be limited to recycling centers, mobile unit programs, reverse vending machines, or bag drop programs. Eligible applicants include: • Qualifying Tribal Entities. A “Qualifying Tribal Entity” is defined as a tribe, band, nation or other organized group of community, residing within the borders of California, which: o Is recognized for special programs and services provided by the United States because of the status of its members as Native Americans; or o Can establish...
